Our Vision

As the parish churches of Ticehurst and Flimwell we are the heart of the Christian presence in our villages, as has been the case for centuries not only here but throughout England. As such, we proclaim the Gospel to all in our villages in Word and in Sacrament as well as in all we do, seeking to play an open, active, relevant and supportive role which enhances life for both residents and visitors to our communities.

We provide pastoral and spiritual development for families and young people whilst showing respect for the needs of our faithful current congregations.

We aim to minimise our environmental impact and embrace every opportunity to improve the natural environments in our care.

We work closely and collaboratively with other village organisations, particularly the primary school, our care homes and other medical institutions.

We encourage involvement in all aspects of church life from all denominations, backgrounds and skills, providing opportunities to learn new skills like bell ringing, singing, flower arranging as well as participation in worship.

We support individuals and families through every life stage and at the most difficult times in their lives, providing a warm welcome and a listening ear at times of challenge and crisis as well as helping celebrate the most joyful life events–from baptisms, to funerals, to weddings and a regular offering of Sunday services ranging from Eucharistic and Choral BCP to contemporary and Family Services. We also have a regular offering of various groups. Enquire with the Vicar if you are interested in learning more.
