Our Village School Ticehurst and Flimwell Church of England Primary School Ticehurst and Flimwell Church of England Primary School is a ‘controlled’ school. This means that although it was a church foundation it is controlled by the Local Education Authority (East Sussex County Council), but the school’s Board of Governors includes the Vicar and three ‘Foundation’ Governors who are appointed by the diocese on the recommendation of the parish. The school, which opened in 2004 and replaced the Victorian Ticehurst school, has a strong Christian ethos; there is a daily Christian based assembly.  Four or five school services are held each year in Ticehurst church. The church connection is also reinforced by decorations in the new building, including two wonderful murals. The school welcomes pupils of all denominations and faiths and of none. The old Flimwell school was bombed during the 2nd World War and did not reopen. For more information about our school please see their website. If you wish to apply to our school this is done through the East Sussex website or a form. The closing date for new entry to start in September is the 5th February (or 22nd Feb in exceptional circumstances).
